The information and technical skills contained in AMGA online courses are presented as a resource and general learning for guide and instructor candidates and are not a standard. The information and technical skills included here reflect the perspectives of both the AMGA and the specific presenters/creators. All of these courses are meant to educate guides and instructors in a particular subject in advance of, and in conjunction with an in-person AMGA course.  As climbing and skiing are inherently dangerous activities, it is imperative that each guide or instructor take ownership of their own risk management and mitigation and seek qualified instruction prior to the use of a skill learned in an online course. Judgment and decision making are paramount and all technical skills should be practiced in a ground setting environment prior to in-person training.
